Nigerians often have two wedding ceremonies to incorporate both traditional and contemporary customs. The Nigerian ceremony, also known as the traditional wedding, will pay tribute to Chu, his family, and their Igbo culture and heritage with traditional rituals, music, and attire.
The white wedding is a contemporary Western or American affair. During our white wedding, we will celebrate Allyssa, her family, and their Salvadoran heritage with the lazo ceremony and the arras. Our reception will be a fusion of American, Salvadoran, and Nigerian food, music, and attire.
To our Latinx and Nigerian family and friends, please note that our schedule will not be operating on Latino/African time—even if you are. 🥰
Our white wedding ceremony will begin at the Pasadena Masonic Temple at 1:00 pm upstairs in the Grand Hall. Cocktail hour to follow after the wedding ceremony, followed by our Reception, with Dinner and Nigerian Traditional
For the Reception and our Nigerian traditional ceremony, please arrive by 3:30 pm.
The wedding program is as follows:
American Wedding Ceremony
Cocktail Hour
Reception: Dinner, Nigerian Traditional Ceremony, Dance Dance!
After Party at DerWolf
We'd like to ask guests to wear vibrant cocktail attire or traditional Nigerian attire. For colors, we kindly ask that guests avoid wearing light blue and white, please! There will be dancing, so make sure to bring your comfy dancing shoes.
Both our wedding ceremony and reception will take place indoors. We recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket, just in case the temperatures inside are a little chilly.
We are excited to celebrate with our closest family and friends. Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate additional plus ones on our big day. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. If not...we still love you! Thank you for understanding!
Please RSVP by January 16, 2026 by using the link in your digital invitation or the RSVP link on our website.
We are still figuring out live-streaming options. This will be updated as we get closer to our wedding date.
We will be serving Nigeran and Salvadoran food at our reception to honor both of our cultures and want to ensure that everyone can enjoy the food. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or allergies when you RSVP, and we will do our best to accommodate.
While we love your little ones, our wedding ceremony and reception will be an adults-only (21+) event, except for the immediate family's children at the ceremony. Parents, use this as an opportunity for a fun evening out! We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can join us in celebration.

You are more than welcome to take photos during the Nigerian traditional ceremony! However, for our American ceremony, we like to ask that you refrain from taking pictures as we are requesting for an "unplugged" ceremony. Stay present and unplugged with us! And don't worry—our photography team will capture all the special moments during the white ceremony.
During cocktail hour, reception, and the rest of the weekend please take as many pictures as you like and share them with us on our wedding Google Photos album that will be linked closer to our date.
Allyssa really likes her last name, and therefore will be staying a Moscotte ☺️
Your presence is the real gift, especially since we know many of you are traveling from far away to be with us on our big day! If you're feeling particularly generous, you are welcome to take a look at our wedding registry, located on our dedicated wedding registry page. In Nigerian culture, guests shower the bride and groom with money in a tradition known as "money spray." If you feel inclined to join in on the celebration instead, please feel free to do so and bring some bills to make it rain!
Please feel free to contact Allyssa or Chu for further questions on Facebook, WhatsApp, email, text, or phone call.
